General
Bryn Celyn is only available for short breaks out of peak season, where possible we can accommodate two and three night breaks
For weekly lets in 2024 the changeover day is Saturday (7 nights) however we will encourage booking for Friday changeover in 2025 so that we can accommodate more short lets out of high season.
For mid-week lets the changeover day is Monday (4 nights)
For weekend breaks the changeover day is Friday (3 nights)
Due to cleaning requirements departure time is now 10.00 hrs, and arrival time is from 16.00 hrs
Due to our rural location, we are on a septic tank system. Please put nothing more substantial than loo paper into the system. In particular, the boathouse has a macerator system and we will charge guests for plumbing call out and repairs should this get blocked with anything other than loo paper.
WIFI is complementary but due to the location, high winds affect service and it can quite often need restarting at the external Open Reach exchange. Please call me if it isn’t working and I will do my best to get it up and running again for you ASAP. The WIFI password is on the hub in the main house and in the boathouse the pasword is boathouse.
Only guests listed on the booking form can stay or use the facilities at Bryn Celyn unless permission sought in advance of stay.
No smoking is allowed in any of our properties and we would prefer no smoking outside either. However, if you feel the need to smoke outside please dispose of cigarette ends responsibly and ensure that they are always picked up and put in the external green bin with the general rubbish.
Booking is only confirmed upon the payment of the deposit of one third of the total cost and remaining balance must be paid 8 weeks prior to stay.
Security deposits are required in advance of your stay, check-in will only be possible once this is received. £100 boathouse and £500 main house. Bank details are on the booking form.
Payments are to be made by BACS.

Information about your upcoming stay
Directions - Very Important!
Sat Nav will not take you all the way so you will need the following directions.
Address for Sat Nav:
Bryn Celyn House and Boathouse
Arthog
Gwynedd
LL39 1BJ
Directions:
Enter the village of Arthog, there's a small freehold on your left that sells eggs and locally made cakes. Carry on past this for 200m, past the houses on the left and the white ponies on the right. As the road narrows and then widens slightly prepare to turn right towards a closed gate with the red sign on it. This gate must always be closed after you pass through it.
Follow the single track road another 400m and go through a pair of leaning out sentry posts. Carry on, up a slight incline that becomes dirt track and you will come to a T-section (this is probably where your SAT NAV ends). On your left is a row of Victorian houses (Mawddach Crescent), ignore the crescent.
Turn right and keep the river view on your left. Go through the next set of gates and over the cattle grid (again please close the gate to prevent the sheep coming into the garden). Follow the drive as it bears left on a slight hill. You've entered the grounds and if you drive straight ahead you will see the Stop Here sign for The Boathouse on your left, this is where Boathouse guests may park or if you’re staying in the main house carry on past this and you can park by the ramp to the house.
Check-in
Unfortunately due to the additional Covid-19 cleaning procedures check-in is not before 5pm and no later than 8pm on the day of arrival. If you have a raised temperature or are feeling unwell please stay at home and get tested for Covid before travelling to Wales. Prior to arrival please email a full list of adults in your group and their mobile contact numbers, this will only be used for track and trace should illness at the property become an issue but is a legal requirement of the Welsh Government as a host to hold a record of all guests.
All being well this is the only contact you will have with either myself Jayne or our housekeeper Niki. If you would prefer to self-check-in, this is perfectly fine!
Please let me know if you would like me to email a copy of the House safety guidelines for you to understand the hazard zones and as which will be agreement to be aware of such with all members of your group. There is also a printed laminated copy of this in the main house.
If you need help with anything else during your stay, please call me on 07812180130 and I will do my best to help.
